    sounds spanish to some because greeks had an impact on spaniards in general especialy ancient greek colonies along their eastern coast.so.... spanish sounds greco-latin. As for it sounding kind of slavic? how?

    To me, Uralic speaker who has only studied Germanic languages, Greek sounds mostly like Spanish with a little Baltic or Slavic mixed in.

    Some words sound similar to Modern Greek while others don't or are mixed with Romance-based words. Check the samples here, under Corigliano d'Otranto and Bova Superiore respectively.
