Ramadan message of peace: Jewish man stabbed multiple times by two Arabs outside Damascus Gate

(JPost) A haredi Israeli man in his thirties was stabbed multiple times outside Damascus Gate in east Jerusalem Wednesday night by two Arab men, police said.

According to police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld, at approximately 9:30 p.m. the unidentified victim was accosted by the two suspects, who proceeded to stab him in the abdomen. The victim was walking home from the Western Wall via Damascus Gate.

“The victim was stabbed in the stomach with a large knife and the suspects then fled the area,” said Rosenfeld. “A large number of police units are actively searching different areas around Damascus Gate for the suspects who carried out the attack.”

The victim was subsequently rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where has been listed in moderate condition.

Tensions among Arabs and Jews remained heighted Tuesday during Tisha Be’av and Ramadan after hundreds of Jews were denied entry to the Temple Mount earlier in the day in observance of the annual day of mourning, following threats of Arab rioting.

The Kurds nor Turkmens are hardcore Muslims. Bosinak have more Islamic identity than those two groups. The fight between is nothing Islamic it's ethnic. Also not all Kurds are Muslims.

This nothing to do with Islam at all, because Kirkuk is a disputed city between Baghdad and the Kurds. Also there is ethnic tensions among the Turkmens and Kurds in the region. The Kurds want to take Kirkuk because it has vast oil wealth, but there is a problem that it's mostly inhabited by Turkmens. The Turkmens due to their smaller numbers favor a union with Iraq and relay on Turkish protection. Hence the violence has no religious element, but rather ethnic and political elements.

First of all the Turkmen are not a majority in Kirkuk, and secondly, it is Muslims who kill and Muslims who die: This is how they solve their problems...

Kirkuk is not in Kurdistan. It's disputed. True Arab did settle in Kirkuk, most of whom were Shia Arabs from the South, but they are a minority, the region is mostly and is inhabited by Turkmens. Turkmens are the natives of that land. The oil should not be only for Kurds, but they know without any natural resources their hopes at complete independence is dashed out. They also see the Turkmens as a threat because of their alliance with Turkey and wanting a united rather than balkanized Iraq. This is not about Islam or Arabs, since Arab play very little in this. The conflict over Kirkuk is mostly between Turkmens and Kurds. Baghdad of course supports the Turkmens in this regard. If the Kurds attempt to annex Kirkuk, Ankara might intervene.

(CNN) -- A bomb hidden in a Sunni mosque exploded while worshipers listened to a sermon Friday in northeastern Iraq, killing at least 18 people and injuring 56, police and health officials said.
