Honestly, Rep.Macedonians considering genetics have nothing to do with Croats, but they are very similar to Greeks and Bulgarians, like some sort of hybrid of that two, and overall considering Anthropological phenotypes they are much closer to Greeks than to Croats.
I cannot imagine a scenario in which I would consider Rep. Macedonians closer to Croats than to Greeks, their slavic language (rep. macedonia) is the only similarity which has anything to do with Croatians.
Jesus Christ, Rep. Macedonians almost have nothing to do (considering genetics and relatively phenotypes) with Central or Northern Serbians, not to mention with Croatians.

It depends, for eg. vojnik was close to northern greeks but polk is closer to croats.

Well yeah, but majority of Rep. Macedonians never resembled (in general) not only to Croats, but almost to nowone in ex-Yugoslavia except to southern Serbs and (only relatively) to Montenegrians.
Later with genetic studies we know what we always knew, that they are different.
I think the better question of this thread would be: "Are Slavic Macedonians closer to Greeks or Serbs?" And still Greeks would be closer to them by everything.
I cannot explain this, but when I was a child and didn't know anything about genetics or phenotypes, I remember some Macedonian children came to visit our town, we just knew that they are different than us considering their look, we couldn't explain it (because we didnt know what we know here and now), but they were different to us, somehow, some way...
Older people in Croatia always were saying to me when I would ask them about views between people/nations in ex-Yugoslavia;
For example, Slovenians didn't like anyone but only (relatively) Croatians in Yugoslavia (later after Yugoslavia ended, that same Slovenians will betray us on every scale as people, today they are ok), and both Slovenians and Croatians never hated Macedonians but they were always like "another world" or somethin both to Croats and Slovenians, nevermind they were in same country with Macedonians; Yugoslavia.
On the other hand, there was always animosity in Yugoslavia between Croats and Serbs, maybe better word would be: hatred (unfortunately or not, but that's the truth), but what's funny, Croats never thought (considering looks) of Serbs (northern and central, for southern Serbs nowone gave a fu...k haha) like they thought for Macedonians (as I've said: different world).
