I do notice this when browsing VKontakte (Russian Facebook). Women do put the bar higher for uploading stylish pictures of themselves than on Facebook. I myself am poorly adapted to this Facebook generation, but VKontakte is slightly more about showing off I have the impression. Which can be a good thing of course.

Why do you browse there? That's a Russian-language social network, only we "ex-Soviets" use it or those who live in these countries. I've seen some Westerners there, though. Not to mention Asian and African students.

Curiosity of course. A Russian person linked me a VKontakte profile and I decided to go take a look at random profiles. As a Westerner I'd make a profile myself if I knew Russian or were a celeb famous in Russia.

I wonder whether RussiaPrussia uses it, though.
