    En Iberia? Hispania?
And what about the 'Swiss' one? Helvetie?

Seeing the 'Hexagone' here is even worse!:

It's : Astérix en Hispanie and Astérix en Helvétie.
And the Banquet is because they do a tour around Gaul to collect food items, that you have the map.

I think they just look distressed because Obélix is too heavy to pull.

Aye, but it's curious that 1st Century Gallia has the same borders as the 5th Republique (or whatever Republic you're up to these days - i lost track after Louis Phillippe )!

While I'd be the first to join in with a chorus of the Die Wacht Am Rhein, I don't mind ceding ancient territory to you buggers, in this case the entire left bank!

I suppose Val d'Aosta would have been included then too, and the bits around Genf...

The original, as Loxias said, is Hispanie, and so is it in most translations. Only Italians changed it for Iberia.

But you're not alone. Germans, Scandinavians and Hungarians committed the same mistake.

The Gaul "inhabited by the Gaulish" according to Caesar

The Gaul as a whole according to Caesar

Integral Gaul, cisalpine and transalpine, at the time of Caesar

The "french" Gaul, that we learn at school. An anachronism.

But except this Asterix was a funny comic when I was little.
