Default How different do Albanians and Greeks look?

I made separate options for Greek and Albanian posters. This will be interesting to see the divide in opinion.

I have NEVER met a Greek and thought he was Albanian.. Trust me we look NOTHING like Greeks... But I have met Italians and thought they were Albanian... But I think we overlap with North Central East Italians, and not like south Italians.

Greeks from Northern Epirus or just Epirus looks very Dinaricized. Basically, my parents got a few friends from Epirus and when they come to Crete they look totally albo . Other than that, there is not much overlap (phenotypically wise). Islanders (e.g. Cretans) looks way different compared to albos.

They look quite different on average - but at least to experienced people like me. The average Joe from outside Balkans probably can't tell the difference.

On Apricity, the idea that people from the southern half of Balkans - Bulgarians, Albanians, Greeks, look the same, is quite popular. This is nonsense for me.

Not to go off topic but it's the same for other areas also, it's cause people don't recognize the looks.

Look, I have stated this thing before also, there is an overlap between south albanians ( excluding labs) and greeks of northern regions, such as Epirus, Thesslia and Macedonia, to an extent to Peloponesus also. The overlap with north albanians, or ghegs of highlander heritage, not just ghegophones is almost insignificant, and this is obvious evan to the foreigners. I am not including here south albanophones of southeastern albania because it is a very mixed region between vlachs, albanians, goranis and gypsies.

I think Labs are more similar with Grekified Albanians of Epir than, say, Lushnjars. Ghegs don't overlap because they are different people from Tosks, however Ghegs overlap with Slavs with which have intermixed.

Different for the most part but there is some overlap. Not nearly as similar as you think though.

    el22,

You are wrong in that because lushnjars together with fieraks have a significant vlachic blood that has afected their phenotypes and pigmentation( there are famous vlachic settlements in Fier and Lushnja), adding here the gypsies that are there plus the roman blood.... while labs are pure epirotans with no latin infusion.

Fortunately we have genetics today that can confirm the mixing of populations and ghegs have only 7-8 % slavic blood ( at least the ones of northern albania, kosova and montenegro) while tosks have double the amount. Ghegs are the purest paleo balkaners.

I don't know what that means. I'm a Serbian, and on 23andMe it shows just 3% on standard estimate for "Eastern European" and 2% for "Northern European" (which jumps to 20% and 10% respectively on speculative estimate). And I'm a slav so what does that amount to for slavic blood?
