Default Bomb blasts hit 9 Iraqi cities, towns, kill 36

At least 36 people have been killed and several others wounded in a series of bomb explosions that hit Iraqi cities, security officials say

On Sunday, at least 14 bomb explosions hit 9 different cities and towns across Iraq, AP reported.
The deadliest blast took place in central city of Hilla, killing at least 15 people and wounding dozens more.
In the town of Iskandariyah, a car bomb went off at a parking lot, killing at least four people and wounding nine others.
A car bomb in the Waziriyah neighborhood of Baghdad also killed at least three people and injured eight others.
At least four others lost their lives in a deadly bomb explosion in the city of Karbala, south of the capital, Baghdad, as another two people were killed in the Shia-dominated city of Kut.
Three people lost their lives in the Adhamiyah neighborhood in Baghdad, where a car bomb went off near the convoy of the head of the capital’s provincial council. The official managed to escape the assassination attempt.
Similar attacks in Nasiriyah, Basra, Abu Ghraib, and Mosul on Sunday left another five dead.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The attacks came a day after at least 26 people lost their lives and 45 others sustained injuries in a bomb attack in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh.
On Friday, 30 people were killed in two bomb explosions near a mosque in the northern city of Baquba.
Violence has surged across Iraq in recent months, reaching its highest level since 2008.
According to the United Nations, more than 800 people were killed across Iraq in various acts of terrorism in August alone.
The Iraqi government says al-Qaeda-linked groups and members of the outlawed Ba’ath party are behind the surge in terrorist attacks in the country.
