For one considering China has many skyscrapers, yet it's still a third world country. 2) New York outside of Manhattan (even within Manhattan) doesn't have very good buildings, yet they live better than 80% of the people in the world.

who says china is a third worldcountry? If look at gdp per capita they have almost 10 thousand thats more than your albania has, thats right your tiny nation is poorer 1.3 billion chinese so i dont get why you talk here even if you have nothing to argue about whats 1st or 3rd world. China has cities who have similar lifestyle like russia or poland with 20 thousand gdp per capita thats shenzen, shanghai and bejing who have 50 million people together.

Well Moscow and some places are clearly between first and second world, but the fact that these regions get such a disproportional amount of money is 3rd world by itself

the bold part is what makes a place third-world. Look at USA for instance, California produces the most GDP for USA but it comes proportional to the the population that California has in relation to other states in the American union. Russia on the hand........ (we can let RP explain this for himself with his love for tall buildings. )
