My grandfather Harold's mother was an Allard whose parents (Amable and Phiulomene) were born in Quebec Province (her paternal grandmother was likely a Baillargeon, I haven't found her mother's family name yet) in the 1830's - 1840's.

A distant cousin with whom I have had contact says we had forebears involved in the Patriotes' Rebellion. He claims that an Allard fired the first shot at the British.
