Meza, Croatian custom - "stay just a little longer", call for eating and socializing

"Nešta čemo mi zameziti" has always meant - stay just a little longer, for us is a pleasant day while we are together. Call "stop by and we'll meziti something", it means that we want friendship, hang out while sitting around a small table in the living room, or much less, about the speed served a large dining table. Sometimes it was a simple call "go for a coffee," and would then served Meza - slices bacon, ham, cheese, roasted meat with mandatory pies and cakes. When we served meza then it was as if the dish is in the background, in the second plan. Meza is there only to meet us while comfortable talking and where Meza creates the base in order to have a drink, call for eating and socializing.
