Not drift for you. Genetic drift affects isolated populations. It's most likely the opposite in that your mixture pulls you away. If you look at Daco he's half Irish and half Romanian but gets French because it is some halfway point between his two ancestries.

People in Quebec/US must not have drifted too far if it hasn't been long enough. If its opposing admixtures, the only equidistant populations to France for me are Eastern Germany/Scandinavia. I see some English populations cluster amongst them but not often, considering its my other ancestral half.
