Are germans closer to french or slavs?

Are ethnic germans closer to french or slavs (poles, czech, russians etc.)?



Rhinelanders probably are closer to french and dutch.

Westphalians and Lower Saxons to dutch.



But what about others?

Most are closer to French. But, in the eastern part of Germany there are probably quite a few who share genetically with the Slavs and resemble them more.

Also Bavarians are more like slavs I noticed.

The Sorbs and other west Slavs made it into Bavaria. And of course the Czechs have a shared history through the HRE.

French, and Germans are both R1b, Slavs are R1a. This isn't even close, or debatable.

Northeastern Germans and Bavarians are closer to Slavs. Western, Central and Southwestern Germans are closer to French.

I meant Western Slavs. All Germans are more similar to French if compared to Eastern Slavs.
