Muslim Activist Who Accused Israel of Sex Crimes, Raped 15-Year-Old Israeli Girl

Nawaf Athamneh, the 52 year old resident of Kafr Qara, NIF-funded public relations hack, and editor of the far left anti-Israel former Machsom (Checkpoint) website and other outlets was recently convicted of raping a 15 year old Israeli girl.

Before Athamneh committed the actual crimes, he stalked his young victim through the personals section of a newspaper. He called himself “Amir,” pretending to be an Israeli, gained her confidence, claimed to obtain an incriminating photograph of her. With that, he had virtually complete control over the terrified girl as he threatened to show her family and community the photos.

He then hounded her, blackmailing her into meeting him and then forcing her to commit various sexual acts. Then he claimed he videotaped those humiliations and promised her still more sexual and other degradations. The girl finally confided in her sister, the sister told her mother, the mother went to the police, a trap was set and Athamneh was apprehended, tried and convicted.

While Nawaf Athamneh was committing actual rape of an Israeli girl, he was denouncing Israel for its metaphorical rape.

The “One Day One Struggle” campaign organized by the Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights in Muslim Societies (CSBR), held on November 9, we are seeking to break the “walls” of silence on daily violations of our sexual and bodily rights in the Palestinian society. We are principally highlighting the Israeli structural and legal violations of sexual, bodily, psychological, social and economic rights of Palestinians that intersect with the patriarchal social context, which restrain individual freedoms, perpetuates women’s inferior status and imposes silence on physical, psychological and sexual violations committed against women.

The “media coordinator” for that valiant struggle against the patriarchy and psychological and sexual violations was none other than Nawaf Athamneh. And in that capacity he apparently produced posters, like the one above, accusing Israel of sexual abuse.

The conference itself raised hackles at the time, in particular because of the provocative posters.

There were a series of them, one which revealed the body and arm of a male Israeli soldier reaching towards the chest area of an Arab women, the other revealed the body and arm of a female Israeli soldier reaching towards the area of the sensitive body part of a male Arab. The headline of the poster read: “Her husband needs a permit to touch her. The occupation penetrates her life everyday.”

The left penetrates Israel everyday. Because of course Nawaf Athamneh was not acting on his own. The whole thing was reportedly funded by the left-wing New Israel Fund which donated 300,000 dollars to the groups involved.

The New Israel Fund is funded in part by none other than that noted philanthropist and enthusiastic Nazi collaborator George Soros who described his role in the Holocaust as the most exciting time in his life. The NIF’s Director of Gender Studies, Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian, tried to deny responsibility for another one of their attacks on Israel.

Nawaf was serving on the Board of Directors of the I’lam Center, an Arab Anti-Israel group, which received $410,000 from the New Israel Fund. The European Union and the Swiss government also chose to fund I’lam.

Nawaf Athamneh also worked for the Galilee Society, which received funding from the European Union, the United States State Department and George Soros.

Now you might think that the story ends with at least one scumbag going to jail. And you would be wrong. Because, as you can see from that list above, Nawaf Athamne was all “mobbed up”. Or in the Israeli vernacular, he had high level Protektsia, from the left-wing clubhouse. And that clubhouse runs the Israeli justice system.

The 15 year old victim who finally was induced to overcome her mortification, who participated in the pursuit, trial and conviction of her torturer, and who implored, in a letter to sentencing Judge Ron Shapira that a harsh sentence be imposed so as to deter others from engaging in similar brutalizing behavior. But instead Haifa District Court Judge Ron Shapira decided to insult the young victim again.

Although Judge Ron Shapira said he agreed with the prosecution that the normal three to six year sentence for such crimes was appropriate, in this case he decided to depart from the appropriate sentence, in favor of attempting to rehabilitate the criminal.

So instead of sending Athamneh to a cold dark cell, Judge Ron Shapira chose to sentence the stalker pedophile to serve six months of community service

The prosecutors in this case appealed the outrageous sentence to the Israeli Supreme Court, which allowed the sentence to stand.

Considering that the Israeli Supreme Court is basically politically indistinguishable from a meeting of the New Israel Fund, that’s not too surprising.

It’s not exactly the first time that Judge Ron Shapira gave Muslim criminals a big hug and whispered sweet nothings in their ears.

Haifa District Court judge Justice Ron Shapira has ordered that five of the six suspects in a brutal beating of two IDF soldiers be released to house arrest. The six are accused of beating the two soldiers with metal rods and stones while shouting anti-Jewish curses at them in an attack a second judge deemed reminiscent of the lynch of IDF soldiers in Ramallah.

Before assaulting the soldiers, the Arab attackers asked if they were Jewish. When they answered in the affirmative, several Arabs began beating them simultaneously.

Justice Shapira declared that the attack was motivated not by anti-Israeli sentiment, but rather, by simple mistaken identity. The attackers’ use of the word “Jew” was part of the mistake, he said.

There is no evidence that the Arab attackers realized that the two victims were IDF soldiers on leave, Shapira stated.

He called to release the suspects to house arrest in order to allow them to return to school under supervision. Four of the suspects are minors.

Wasn’t that nice of Judge Ron Shapira. This is truly an understanding man. A man with a heart as big as… well a metal rod and an NIF linked rapist.

Here he is posing with an Israeli flag for legal reasons, but I suspect he would much rather pose with the Palestinian flag. And just to put the final perverse stamp on it all, Judge Ron Shapira went to a rape crisis center to lecture on sexual assault.

“We must not stop fighting sexual assaults,” Justice Ron Shapira said, “Victims of sexual abuse often have their souls murdered, not only their bodies. The punishment should reflect the severe trauma to the psyche of the victims.”

The nobility of Justice Ron Shapira. This is a man with genuine depth of feeling… for rapists.

But don’t get the idea that Judge Ron Shapira isn’t capable of throwing the book at someone. Even a Muslim. He is. Under the right circumstances.

Issam Zahalkha had a jewelery store, when a robber pretending to purchase some jewelery took out a gun and pointed it at him. The robber tied him up, took the jewelery and demanded the key to the store. Issam gave him the key, but it was only for the inner door of the store, not the outer door.

Issam then got out of his restraints, got his gun and began shooting at the robber through the door. The robber shot back. The shootout injured the robber’s hand. Issam opened the door and shot the robber.

Judge Ron Shapira, with the wisdom of a Solomon, if Solomon had been a friend of criminals, threw the book at poor Issam.

“There is no dispute that at the time the defendant was robbed, he was under attack unlawfully,” the judge wrote in his verdict. “However, while the deceased was trapped in the glass doors, I believe that the danger was no longer palpable and immediate. Especially true after the accused was released from the restraints, grabbed a weapon and began shooting at the deceased. Never mind after the deceased injured his hand. In this situation, I believe that immediate danger had been reduced, and that in fact the fatal shooting was not called for.

“After the deceased injured his shooting hand, the defendant already had the advantage in that he can neutralize him without supplementary firing, let alone fatal fire. At this stage he could withdraw the weapon back and settle for taking other defensive actions.”

Furthermore, Judge Ron Shapira suggested that Issam could have just given the robber the keys to both doors and let him escape with the loot and avoided the whole shooting match.

And so he sent Issam to jail for four years. If only Issam had been a mere rapist with New Israel Fund contacts, perhaps he too could have been let off with community service. But sadly he was just a man defending his property.

To no one’s surprise, Judge Ron Shapira hails from Kibbutz Degania and served as its Kibbutz Secretary. (Degania was, shall we say, a tad Communist influenced.) He is, even less surprisingly a product of Hebrew University. And he is least surprisingly of all, the sort of product of the “clubhouse” of the old rotten establishment that you scrape off the bottom of your shoe.

And then you burn the shoe.

The real occupation of Israel is the occupation of the left.
