The new component called "Red Sea" , explanation from Dienekes.

There are a couple of points of interest; first, the Red_Sea component related Arabians with East Africans. At a higher level of resolution the "Southwest_Asian" and "East_African" (K12) components emerge. The "Red_Sea" component is not very closely related to any other components, but is somewhat related to the "Mediterranean" and "Atlantic_Baltic" components

To me this component seems to be a "hamitic" component. Its fully "Caucasoid Mediterranean" in appearance and 1/4 SSA genetically. The South Asian component on this run is like 1/2 Caucasoid and 1/2 Southeast Asian.

You found it using FST distance from Med. With the same reasoning Atlantic_Baltic would come out being 30% East Asian.

The defining and main components.

The West Asian groups seem to be mainly of West Asian stock with strong to heavy Mediterranean and depending on the Population significant to strong Atlantic_Baltic input.

So "West Asians" = mainly West Asian + strong/heavy Mediterranean + significant/strong Atlantic_Baltic.



What differs the "Levant West Asians" is that they possess both, the Mediterranean and West Asian components, equally. The Mediterranean slightly even bigger making it the strongest component among them. And also characteristic is significant to strong Red Sea input.

So "Levant West Asians = Mediterranean + West Asian + significant/strong Red Sea



The strongest component among "Southwest Asians" interestingly is the Mediterranean, which links them partly together with Southwest Europeans. The second component which is almost equally strong as the Mediterranean is the Red Sea component. The third and also almost equally strong component is the West Asian.

So "Southwest Asians"= Mediterranean + Red Sea + West Asian



The Mediterranean component seems to be a link component between South Europeans, North Africans and Southwest Asians/West Asian/Levant WA.

The West Asian component a link between West Asians/Levant WA, Southeast Europeans and South_Central Asians.

The Red Sea component is a link between Southwest Asians and East Africans
