You are probably seeing alot of Creoles of mixed African,French,Spanish, Native mixture.

The average black american is very dark.

I see white Creoles and black Creoles so I know Creoles when I see them, but I also see straight up black people and Louisiana has lots of light or brown skinned ones. "Red" is a common phrase around here because there are so many redbone type blacks. I don't think most Aframs in the US are very dark, I think most are brown-skinned. But of course it's just my opinion, just as it is yours that most are dark. I think some states have more lighter ones than others, but I think there is a large variety among Aframs that run the spectrum of average.

I don't. In my state, there are many, many brown-skinned and light-skinned blacks. I think this probably differs by state or region. There are lots of dark ones here, but there are also lots of brown-skinned and light-skinned ones here. But I've been outside of my state to many states and it just varies by state. In some states they have different percentages of each type.

I never saw any Aframs in my life? Really? Hey dumbass, I live in the New Orleans metro area, in Louisiana, in the south. I probably saw more Aframs in my life than most members here. And Creole is not a race you fool, so Creoles don't claim to be black since there are also white Creoles here with no African blood. Using creole is like using "American" any color can be one.

"Creoles of color" are a minority group. In Louisiana, white Creoles are white people and are not minorities.

As i said many creoles are light skin blacks who can range from 35-65% euro. They have a different culture from African-Americans. That's what Isleno is seeing.
Beyonce's mom is Creole and is not super black looking like the average AA.

I know it's not your fault because you speak of what you are familiar with, since these types have a community in your state, but Creole is not a race and down here in Louisiana we treat it as an identity of those with colonial ties, regardless of race, so there are white Creoles here in Louisiana just like there are mulatto/black Creoles. Usually if you want to specify mulatto-type Creoles, you say "Creoles of color" "colored Creoles" or just plain " black Creoles". Same if you want to specify white race creoles, you would say "French creoles" or "Spanish creoles", "German Creoles" etc or just plain "white Creoles". We don't usually use these color-coded words when speaking of Creoles in general, we just use "Creole" for anyone of colonial stock, but in the case of speaking about race, we would use the color-coded words to denote the type. We just don't say Creole when we are highlighting race since Creole is like American, anyone can be one of any color or race. It's not a particular race here in Louisiana.
