I think they should. Turkey's economy is west-oriented.

As for Kurdistan, I never understood why this region is so important for Turkey. It's rural and under-developped. It certainly costs you more money than you gain from it. Is there petroleum oil or natural gas, or what? Why does it mean so much to Turkey? Wouldn't it make more sense to grant thema referendum for self-determination?

Don't get me wrong, I am not a Democrat. I would rather accept Abdulhamid II or some tolerant Orthodox Emperor in exchange for anything material on this world.

I see prosperity only through faith, moral conduct and hard work. I'am still Ottoman-minded person which is why I despise modern Turkic nationalism and all those
who partake in it.

I see radical Orthodox Christians more acceptable than some rich secular Turk or western Billionare, cause they look backward to me.

National feelings outweigh rational thought in Turkey.

Also I don't believe there's ENOUGH ground support for Kurdish independence, at least within Turkey. Bulk of them are conservative and keep voting for Erdogan. HDP attracts only %40 of Kurds or something. The same as in Catalonia where Unionists are still popular. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago that was more realistic but today many Kurds are well-integrated into the country.
