I am for reparations, paid by Blacks, to the ancestors of white Union soldiers who were killed and maimed freeing the slaves. Most were poor and were drafted into service against their will. The wealthy were allowed to avoid service by paying the government $.

It's Whites who had freed Blacks from slavery in the first place. I think Blacks should be very grateful of that, and they should stop driving Whites mad and so on.

Most whites have at least some colonial ancestry. Most aren't descended from slave owners because only a minority of whites ever owned slaves.

Black Americans are and have been a net tax loss almost as far back as records go. It's about $7700 for every person every year. And that's just direct utilization of the safety net subtracted with taxes paid; imagine adding secondary costs to that(EMTs, law enforcement budgets, special schooling, etc) on top of that.

No wonder every black neighbourhood/town is a dysfunctional mess. They're all kept afloat by state and federal funding. But of course, we can't talk turning these developments around.

If any sort of reparation should be put in place, it should consist in apologizing to African-Americans for taking their ancestors out of Africa and returning them back to their homelands, for free.

They are lucky for having been brought to America and living in a first world country, otherwise they would be starving in Africa.
