How to classify a skintone:

TYPE I - Celtic/Nordic skintone [Von Luschan cromatic scale, 1-5]- often burns, occasionally tans. Tends to have freakles, hair colour from red/chestnut to blonde. Blue eyes from blue to grey, sometimes green and hazel.

TYPE II - Light skinned European [scale 6-10] - usually burns, sometimes tans. Hair from light to dark, excluding red hair. All eye colours possible.

TYPE III - intermediate/dark skinned Europeans [scale 11-15] - rarely burns, usually tans. Brown hair. All eye colors possible excluding grey.

TYPE IV - Olive skin/Mediterranean [scale 16-21] - rarely burns, often tans. Usually black hair or dark brown. All eye colours possible excluding grey.

I exclude the V and the VI types becouse they are not Europeans.

I think I am a type II, probably a 6 .

I think 8. Anyway to be sure, watch also the second colum becouse it should correspond to the way you tan. For istance I am a 6 becouse when I tan I become a 15 and if I exaggerate and stay under the sun for months, I can become also a 24.
Obviously, if I do I am trying to suicide.

Guys, type I is specific of Albinos and redheads and it is rare even in Northern Europe. Anyway, Jack, I think you are a type II, 7° grade.

Then why ask? I have a skin with freckles, I always burn with the sun, and I have lighter skin than you, although you do not like the idea.

Yeah i can get very tanned, with out geting burned.

Type 1 for sure. I'm pale like a corpse and don't tan, just burn in the summer sun.

Type III I guess.I burn a lot more easily nowadays than when I was a kid.It must be the ghost face that Finland has given me.
