Dinarids don't have Baltid! The ones that do are a mix, and it only exists amongst south slavs. Coon believed they are a blend of Med and Alpine.

Alpine + large Med type produced original Dinarics and this type was found to be best suitable by natural selection for the regions in which it dominates.

Alpines are the original type that was adapted to the mountains (hence it's name) but possibly a change in global settings made the hybrid Dinaric form more suitable then normal Alpine-Med mixes in these regions.
