I like fatty salmon best (oddly, fat fish contain more Omega 3 and thus healthier). even thought I'm a big consumer of tuna as well.
(Just to let you know, cured herring is common in Israel and is called "salty fish")

I have two favorites: steelhead trout and swordfish. Alas, steelhead is almost impossible to get here on the East Coast and is never fresh.

I love salmon, tuna, cod, mackerel and herring... and occasionally I'll eat sardines and pilchards. I hate fish that is fried; I only like fish that is oven-baked, grilled, or steamed. I don't like fish that's stored in aluminium tins either... I prefer fresh fish. I've eaten fish nearly every day for years and I rarely eat meat apart from chicken (a lean white meat) with the skin removed. I also take cod liver oil supplement as it's great for vitamin D, skin, hair and bone health.

I've not tried other fishes though and I don't like anchovies, but I like certain shellfish on occasions, particularly mussels and oysters. I refuse to eat lobster due to the cruel way it's cooked, I've never eaten that although I once tried lobster soup from a tin. I've never tried octopus. I never ever add any salt or sugar to food as my parents taught me not to as a child, although I have low blood pressure, just a little below normal, although sometimes nurses who took my blood pressure were concerned when it went a bit too low. I like to rinse seaweed thoroughly.

The 3 main types of fish I mostly eat are salmon, tuna and mackerel. I also love both sushi and frushi.

I love baked or grilled salmon from the North Sea. It's so moist and tasty! I also love fried catfish. In fact, I can't think of any seafood that I DON'T like. I even like anchovies.

Delicious as hell, but damn ugly until their cooked and prepared.

Straight up country food. Has a nice crunch when fried.

Red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) AKA channel bass, redfish, spottail bass . Tuna is always good too. Red drum I can catch myself, tuna I need to take a charter boat.

I combine my fried catfish and fried chicken with broccoli and spinach. I call that a balanced diet.

Shazou, does your mom prepare delicious Chinese seafood delicacies? Is that more of a Japanese "thing"? I love Chinese food, but I'm rather ignorant about China's take on water critters.

I didn't explain what I meant. Paris Hilton was the WTF "celebrity" before Kim Kardashian tried to fill her boat shoes. That probably was before your time. Eek!

On-topic, I love red snapper too. It brings up nostalgic memories of my fisherman grandpa.

Smoked Salmon has been my favorite since I got a whole smoked fish on a family trip to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. At it through the entirety of the whole week we were up there

These are available by the ton (and cheap). Locally they are called "Silvers" but I don't know what the scientific name is. By far my favourite!

Smoked snoek is excellent or grilled on an open fire and basted with apricot jam!

Me nor my mom are Chinese lol. My mom has a lot of Chinese admixture though, and it is evidenced by her 23andme result, - 20% Chinese/East-Asian is what she had scored. This ancestry was unknown until after we had tested.

I couldn't tell you China's take on water critters even if my life depended on it!

Not exactly a fish, but river lobster.I catch it myself in some streams in the woods.

The trick is simple,I tie a piece of wire tight around a chunk of pork fat and drop it in a stream.I leave it there and the next day when I come there are 3-4 lobsters wrapped around it to eat it,I just pull the wire and bag all of them.

When I set up 5 of these I get a whole bag of lobster.
