Left-wing organisation behind suburb riots

Ten people from the Swedish left-wing extremist organisation AFA have been arrested for, among else, violent disorder and preparations for vandalism. They are believed to have used the already tense situation in the Stockholm suburb Fittja in order to creat riots. There has been fire-rasing, vandalism and stones thrown at police officers. The organisation AFA is also suspected to have started riots together with local immigrants in the city district Rosengård in Malmö, south Sweden.

Another two persons which are said to have bounds with the left-wing extremist organisation Antifascistisk Aktion (Anti Fascist Action) were taken into custody on Sunday at the disctrict court of Södertörn. They are on likely reasons suspected for the preparation of commiting arson in connection with the troubles in Fittja, southwest of Stockholm.

In total, ten young women and men are taken into custody suspected for different crimes being connected to the riots in the centrum of Fittja. The commotions started last Sunday and culminated this Tuesday with fires, the throwing of stones and vandalism.
