Bigger lips?

What factor in the climate caused bigger, fuller lips to develop in southern European countries/ where did it originate? (mediterranean phenotypes)

Whenever I think of Meds I think pencil thin lips on men and slightly full lips on women, overall though I notice larger lips on Dutch, Irish, and Germans

Strange, I always thought of it as a southern Euro trait.

I've seen full lips among Tunisian Jews and the likes, but it doesn't strike me among Southern Euros or Levantines.

Don't know about other groups, but small mouth and thin lips is what gives away a Slav.

Full lips on Caucasians is a progressive trait.
Also, full lips (on Caucasians again) are more generous and trustworthy people while people with thin lips are dirt cheap. They can be calculated and cold:D

Same here, and we both got Irish ancestry. I don't know if you are fully Irish though, I'm not. I've seen some Irish with full lips, mainly from Leinster.

Africa, basically. You can get appearance of larger lips from prognathism as well, which is shared by neanderthal.

Personally, I have incredibly thin lips and narrow mouth opening, even though I have huge jaws. I can't seem to find any group this is the norm but it seems to be a cromag feature.

Cromag people usually have thin lips and permanent slight frown. I am not sure if ancient pops were like that but for modern ones that's the case.

I can't remember your pic but I think you probably have slight prognathism. Mc Cauley is like that too - his lips are not big but it makes them pouty.

You do have big lips, don't take me bad, I also have them. I think any European can display this trait. It's quite random, but I've seen more Northern Euros with full lips than Southern Euros. I think it's a Germanic trait.

Yeah I do, not surprising since I am quite Nordid, and yes prognathism adds to that impression of bigger lips that's for sure. I still could have had it without full lips though and it would look alright, I mean plenty people do, but yeah usually pure unreduced Cro-Magnoids have thin lips so I do have some doubts about the accuracy of this reconstruction.
