Is there any evidence for this claim, if you research black hair you'll find that there are many different types of black hair. There's jet black, blue black, brown black, etc.

It would be nice if there were actual scientific studies on this because I've noticed that on many online forums like these the Greeks, spaniards and Italians always try to make it seem like black hair is non existent or extremely rare in those countries. I can understand if brown is the dominant color, but is black hair in Spain that rare that the hair color of soccer players like Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez and David Villa an Anomaly?

None of those 2 players have black hair. They are very Brown hair. Even Raúl has a shade of Brown hair and is quite darker than these 2 guys

I see, but are you in agreement with the other member who stated that there are no Spaniards with black hair? I find that hard to believe considering the British are even lighter skin and they have people with black hair.

Ugh not the black hair brown hair thing again. If your hair looks black unless it is in full sunlight people refer to it as black. For example.. my hair. If asked I just say its black... always sounds a bit try hard be like "its actually really really dark brown"

We're talking about black hair color not black people. A member in the first page said that Spanish people don't have black hair that it's really just very dark brown.

And like I mentioned before it can apparently reflect differently in light, I hate to use Wikipedia, but there really is almost no research it seems on this issue:

Wikipedia: "Black hair is the darkest color. It has large amounts of eumelanin and is less dense than other hair colors. It can range from brown-black, blue-black or jet-black.(citation needed)"

native berbers WERE light
It is very posible. But these people have nothing to do with the ancestors of the Spaniards. These people arrived to North Africa from Iberia and mixed with natives. What that mix got has nothing to do with us.

Going back to this, even though it seems they were born with dark brown hair; it is now black. It's possible for hair color to change as one grows older and add sun light exposure.

I think the confusion here stems from people believing that true black hair only shines with a blue tint under certain lighting. However, as I mentioned before there are different types of black hair, I once posted photos of some European male models with black hair on another anthropology forum and the members there called their hair soft black.

This was the European model I posted: Barry Brosnan

Would you be in agreement with the members from that other anthropology forum who called his hair soft black?

PS - used a male because women tend to dye their hair far more often especially celebrities.
