This guy might be the most intresting looking person I've ever seen. He has more neanderthal traits than he does sapiens. He fills all the criteria for how a neanderthal supposedly looked like. Notice the very protruding brow, very long lower part of his face, and his very strong jaw.

He seriously has more extreme neanderthal traits than this neanderthal reconstruction. But look at the similar brow and the very long lower face which is very typical for neanderthals and very rarely seen in modern humans.

Neaderthal Skull compared to early homo sapiens skull(again notice the much longer lower face and the brow)

Which one does he resemble the most? How much Neanderthal DNA do you think he has? The average European has about 2,5-3%.

He's something, all right.

One word: Gigantism

No, but the developmental similarity presumably not random. The growth hormones define the appearance on a large scale and presumably less are produced at the modern man than at the common ancestor. So he stands near to the original form morphologically. The gigantism is an quasi atavism.

How many times it must be repeated that he has acromegaly? Why people are so ignorant?

He comes from a family of "giants" I've read

So would you say, that he's a protomorph? :P

I realize now I should've thought of that before I posted this thread...
It's still intresting though how having a very high growth-hormone production makes you look so similar to neanderthals. The neanderthals and many other proto-humans must have had much larger growth-hormone production than us.

Not really... they just looked like that and had their own variations in look as a unique species, people and so on.

Acromegaly.

It would make sense if surviving Neanderthals were not making their living as boxers and in security.

He has a lot of Neanderthal features, that's for sure.

I just came across this guy whilst searching for examples of another group of people. He is strange looking. Quite unique.

He also says he eats 6 kilos of meat per day. He says he really wants to eat woolly mammoth, as that is his favorite, but unfortunately, they went extinct thousands of years ago.

People were long puzzled by his strange phenotype, but Russian scientists, examining his genome, have now proven that he is a throwback, a true Neandertal.

This is exactly what I asked my biology teacher!!! He said no obviously and that Neanderthals are extinct.

I thought that there was some consensus that his features are effect of acromegaly?

He may have features that may resemble those of a Neanderthal, but NO HUMAN BEING ALIVE today is a Neanderthal, contrary to what some people here may think.

He would be massive even from Neanderthal standards.

The average European has about 2,5-3%.

It should be noted, that the variance from that value is extremely low, so even the living individual with the highest amount of neanderthal ancestry in the world is probably at least around 92% human. Notice the great percentile differences on 23andme DNA results, which do not differ much in the amount of actual neanderthal component.

Possibly from his Tatar grandfather as he claims.
