See, I don't think it's senseless. It's only senseless if you are unable to properly raise children and be a good parent. And sure, procreating is in our nature, but there's nothing animalistic about following it if you do it properly. I would never want to have grandchildren if the parents would be unwilling to take care of them, since it's cruel and selfish for the child. However, being able to continue your legacy is a nice concept. :P
