Oh gosh! He's not that hard-core yet!! He's cutting his teeth on "Crazy Train", "Iron Man", and "Mister Crowley". Now I just have to explain to him one of these days who exactly Mister Crowley is!

I'm sure the hard-core Ozzy isn't far behind though. :D

Woohoo! My kind of thread :D
Listing...
Gold, by Spandeau Ballet.
(pretty much anything by Spandeau, in fact, including the little remembered Musclebound)
Save a Prayer by Duran Duran and also by them, View To A Kill.
Is Your Love Strong Enough, a song for the movie Legend, by Bryan Ferry.
Love and Pride, cheesy eighties pop, for sure, by King. :D
Two Tribes, by Frankie Goes To Hollywood, or what that nineties? Eek, I can`t remember...old age, memory loss, heeeelp!
The song from the Lost Boys movie, When You`re A Stranger, by some fella I can`t remember...great song though. :)
Golden Brown by the Stranglers.
Anything by Adam and the Ants. :D (though think some of that is seventies even)
Broken Wings by Mister Mister...had that synthed, spacey sound archetypal of the eighties.....lovely chilled out song....
Temptation by Heaven 17
China in Your Hands by T`Pau.
Living on the Ceiling by Blancmange.
Poison Arrow, by ABC...
Pretty much anything by Fleetwood Mac, their heyday was the eighties far as I`m concerned. :) Big Big Love, for example...:D

Sigh..got heaps more, the eighties was my decade as a young adult, a good time for me, so lots of nostalgia for me there..thanks for the good memories this morning! :D

I am still not ready for 80s nostalgia. I was going to ignore this entire thread until I remembered that such bands as Skrewdriver and Agnostic Front were in their prime. English oi and New York hardcore may not be what "80s music" brings to mind but they do qualify.

Physical by Olivia Newton-John. Very suggestive for 1981. The song is best with just the audio & you use your own imagination.;) Though the video is notable for being one of the earliest music videos, even predating the debut of MTV.

"Nothing Compares 2 U" is a song written in mid-1981 by Prince for The Family. In 1990, a cover version by Sinéad O'Connor became a number-one hit in many countries, charting in the U.S., UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Germany.

Which 80s are we talking about here? If it is the 1780s, then something by Mozart. If it is the 1880s, Brahms, or if we are willing to go a bit lowbrow, then Gilbert and Sullivan. I hope you don't mean the 1980s as that decade is best forgotten.

I long for the 80s. There about 70 million fewer people (of color) in the US, apartheid ruled in South Africa & there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of a Negro being elected in America in my lifetime.:(

But what does it mean?
Ispod palme na obali mora
From under a palm on <the edge?> of the sea
rastaju se dvoje sa suzama
There grew two ????
vec je zora pocela da rudi
ona place, on je nezno ljubi
She weeps, he loves her tenderly?

za njih dvoje vise srece nema
For them there is no higher fate than this
od sutra ce samo jedno leto
,..... that one summer?
da ostane samo uspomena
All the rest ... something about memory...?

Tu na pesku pocela je ljubav
Sands? Love?
samo more pricu zna o njima
THe sea itself knows nothing about it?
do juce su oni srecni bili
sad su samo suze u ocima

Under the palm tree on the shores of the sea,
two are saying goodbye with the tears in their eyes.
Down is already coming, she is crying, he is kissing her gently.

she is crying, he is kissing her gently.
For them there is no more happiness,
from tomorrow, that summer is going to be just one memory.

There, on the sand, their love started,
only the sea knows for their love.
Until yesterday they were happy together,
but now they have only tears in their eyes...

Well, something like that :) :)

It's one summer love song, but it's words are sharp like a knife
