Hey Hellasson,
Well, I don't know. Can you..??
I was just thinking about the Holy Grail today..!!
And, just off the top of my head, I'd say..
A quest of one's best..

The difference is that the Graal mythos is ancient, how ancient is uncertain. It may well be pre-Christian. Armanism was invented by Guido List [Though he called himself "Guido von List" he was not a nobleman and not entitled to use the "von".] in the 19th century.
Serious archaeological and anthropological investigations have failed to substantiate List's doctrines. However, they were popular in Nazi Germany.

Yeah, he roots of the Graal Mythos in Germany are quite old, stretching back at the latest to Wolfram von Eschenbach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfram_von_Eschenbach) (c. 1170-1220). The Armanists were quite the synthesizers and blended pre-Christian Germanic ideas with Blavatsky's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blavatsky) Theosophy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosophy), the Mythos revolving around the Graal and Spear (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Lance), etc. Add to that the bizarre "etymological" word-mysticism of von List and you get an intriguingly bizarre package.

Sounds extremely similar to finding one's True Will (Thelema), if you ask me.

Next question..... Does the Armanen-Orden still exist?

If they do, I'd wager that it's an under-the-radar kind of operation in Germany and/or Austria.
