Darrell Kastin is an American writer, born in Los Angeles, California, in 1957. His father’s ancestors came from Belarus, at the start of the 20th century. His mother was born in the Azores, Portugal, and is the daughter of Azorean poets and journalists, Francisco and Josefina do Canto e Castro, who left the islands at the end of World War II. The family has roots in the islands of Terceira, Faial, Pico, S. Jorge and Corvo.
