Yes, he can pass. Especially in northern italy but not as typical. Norid is more common.

Wasn't he english anyway? I know that there has been an english pope once, I'm guessing it's him.

Actually, "ANGLICVS" is incorrect, it should be "ANGLICUS", which means "English, or of English decent " in Latin
