I've been an avid listener of Steindór Andersen since I first listened to him when he collaborated with Sigur Rós in 2001.

Here are some songs I could find on the internet:
This is probably my favorite
Hugann Seiđa Svalli Frá (http://thepuredrop.com.au/video/hugann.htm)

And of course some mandatory Jewtube videoes.

Yes, he is a traditional Icelandic pagan/heathen and his music corresponds to that, he is a true Icelandic master in heathen "rímur" (traditional heathen ritual rhymes, you see pagan Icelanders believe in 'the power of the word', so rhymes are not just a form of poetry but also have a metaphysical truth found in them, the two largest religious movements in Iceland are the pagans/Ásatrúars and the Christians.. Islam is increasing though because of immigration)

Interesting. The context of the rímur are still temporal/secular even though they have this other level to them?
Maybe some corrupt Christian priest used them as an addition to hymns and wrote some religious rhymes. But fundamental they are secular?

Edit:

I also have this cd called Íslandsklukkur

The version I have, men and women sing along on many of the songs and it contains 25 songs.

I found a song from the cd on youtube:

Well I was only referring to the pagan ritual rhymes in this context. There are all sorts of different types of rhymes you can find of course. No I would not say rímur are fundamentally secular here (If I understand you correctly), there is a metaphysical or spiritual element found in too many of them...but not all of them of course.
