No, he is from the middle region of Norway. The county of Nord Trøndelag to be exact.

I think Norwegians are very similar to the English in ethnic make-up. Do genetics confirm this?

Well, I remember reading that they at least show greater genetic affinity with the English than other Scandinavians do.
