Revolt Against the Modern World: Politics, Religion, and Social Order in the Kali Yuga (Rivolta contro il mondo moderno) is a book by the philosopher and theorist Julius Evola, first published in Italy, in 1934. Widely seen as his magnum opus, it is an elucidation of his Traditionalist world view.

The first part of the book deals with the concepts of the Traditional world; its knowledge of the bridge between the earthly and the transcendent worlds. The second part deals with the modern world, contrasting its characteristics with those of traditional societies: from politics and institutions to views on life and death. Evola denounces the regressive aspects of modern civilisation (using Tradition as a normative principle).

Rivolta contro il mondo moderno was published in Milan by Hoepli in 1934. In 1969 a revised and augmented edition was published. Translated into English by Guido Stucco (from the 1969 edition), it was published by Inner Traditions in 1995 and as a 375-page hardcover (ISBN 0-89281-506-X). It has also been translated into German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Turkish and Hungarian.

In case you're wondering about the meaning of "Kali Yuga (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_Yuga)":

Kali Yuga (Devanāgarī: कलियुग [kəli juɡə], lit. "age of [the demon] Kali", or "age of vice") is the last of the four stages the world goes through as part of the cycle of yugas described in the Indian scriptures

Kali Yuga is associated with the apocalyptic demon Kali, not to be confused with the goddess Kālī. The "Kali" of Kali Yuga means "strife", "discord", "quarrel" or "contention".

Fitting reference to the contemporary age.

And finally, a collection of thoughts for all those that have a fetish for "progress":

My favourite one:

Europe has lost its simplicity, its central position, its life. A democratic plague is eating away at its roots, whether in law, science, or speculation. Gone are the leaders, beings who stand out not for their violence, their gold, or for their skills as slave traders but rather for their irreducible qualities of life. Europe is a great irrelevant body, sweating and restless because of an anxiety that no one dares to express. Gold flows in its veins; its flesh is made up of machines, factories, and laborers; its brains are of newsprint. A great irrelevant body tossing and turning, driven by dark and unpredictable forces that mercilessly crush whoever wants to oppose or merely escape the cogwheels.

Such are the achievements of Western "civilization". This is the much ballyhooed result of the superstitious faith in "progress", progress beyond Roman imperiousness, beyond radiant Hellas, beyond the ancient Orient - the great ocean.

All glory goes to what I highlighted in blue, and nothing else.

Evola does seem to have a positive opinion of Islam, as a vector that may conjugate efficiently tradition and sense of rebellion. Did he play a role in your new approach regarding pro Quranism?

The traditionalists approached to the Islam positively in the 20th century's first half. They were the real European right wing and the Islam is the good Semitism opposite the Judeo-epidemic. This present western zionist pseodu-"right wing" is an Israeli controlled joke only.

I lean towards libertarianism and even anarchy in some ways because I feel most people are too stupid to know what's best for me.

Well, New Right still often tends to today actually. No surprise neither, fascist ideology is very authoritarian and hierarchical, as is Islam in a sense. In states controlled by those doctrines, citizens have to listen and bend, or break. Consequently is Iran often seen as a 'state to look up to' in certain New Right circles.

Evola is just one of those few who was eloquent about it is all.
