Welcome here Wulfhere! I am glad that you have found us. Please make yourself at home, poke around and join in the discussions.

Thank you both very much for your welcome! Incidentally, with regard to flags, that of Mercia was not on the drop-down list for countries, but it said new ones could be added as required. A png file of the flag of Mercia can be found here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mercia_flag.png

I did find an entry for Mercia on the drop-down list for regions, but the flag it shows is not the correct one unfortunately - it was one invented by a short-lived Mercian group with no awareness of the traditional flag.

We only add flags of currently independent countries, I am sorry. We could, however, include that one in the regional flag selection, which is also available via dropdown on your profile. :)

That's fine - after all, if Mercia was already independent, half our battle would be won! The regional flag you have for Mercia though needs replacing with the correct one.

Question for admins: The above user just tried to "out" me on Wikipedia, by posting a direct link back to this thread on it. Is this allowed? You know who I am. Hint, I am not an Irish supremacist, or one who sympathises with the anti-British Isles brigade. Calm down...you are with friends! Wikipedia can't hurt you here! If they apply Wikinazi pressure on you there, then that is only indication of their mentality, one that is obviously not to be promoted or accepted.

So why post a link back to this thread there, then?

Well, I'm sorry if I caused you to feel paranoid. I am actually overjoyed to see you! Please make yourself welcome!

Still, the question remains:

How do you propose to realistically, replace the Mercian religious establishment, by ignoring the Archbishop in favour of a high priestess and all the while, still retaining the Cross of St. Alban?

Perhaps next time, O.F., it would be best if you just took a less cryptic approach to introducing yourself to a friend. It would go a long way towards mutual understanding.

Wulfhere, apparently O. F. is a friend of yours.

Hello everyone, I'm a member of Sovereign Mercia, which campaigns for Mercian independence and ethnic integrity, and a complete cultural renewal.

"Ten Little Kingdoms"

'One united kingdom the fancied wouldn't do
To please some grumbling Irishme, they split it into two
Two little kingdoms, but then the Scots, you see
Claimed their anciant throne and rights, then they were three
Three little kingdoms but then one more
For Welshman claimed a parliament and then they were four
Four little kingdoms wouldn't do at all !
One of them was far too big; the others were too small'

And this is the price we'll pay
Take a lesson from your history
'Divide and conquer is the game they play'
And this is the price we'll pay

'All across Great Britain anciant hates revived
Cornwall wants to rule herself, and then they were five
Five little kingdoms, but London is a fix
Raised the 'southern english' flag, and then they were six
Six little kingdoms, the 'Home rule' heaven
Caused a rising in the West, and then they were seven
Seven little kingdoms Northmen wouldn't wait
Hailed Northumbria and then they were eight'

And this is the price we'll pay
Take a lesson from your history
'A house divided simply cannot stand'
And this is the price we'll pay

'And the towns that one may visit via the Eastern county line
Formed East Anglia and then they were nine
Nine little kingdoms never could agree
How to work together and so they went free
Ten little kingdoms too weak to stand alone
A foreign nation conquered them, then they were gone'

And this is the price we'll pay
Take a lesson from your history
'Devolution is the devil's ploy'
And this is the price we'll pay

Wow. Mercian independance, eh? That's really interesting, and I wish you all the best luck with it. Out of curiosity, which areas do you consider to be Mercia? As far as I am aware, the borders fluctuated through out history. I can only assume you're referring to the latest mapping.

Anyway, welcome - I'm new here too :thumbs up

EDIT: If the above post relates to what I just said - sorry, I didn't read it :(

Hi, thanks! There's a map on our website, which represents the stable borders Mercia achieved after its initial period of expansion.

Noooo it's an area of England given the name of Mercia by the Anglo Saxons, it was ruled by Mercian Kings until the the whole country was eventualy unified under one king.

A note to admins: Under Mercia in your drop-down menu for regions you have a bogus flag - the correct one is this:

With regards to the flag, as is made plain here - http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/Flags/gb-e-mer.html - the flag shown in this forum was invented in 2001 by a group calling itself the Mercia Movement - a left-wing socialist group - that no longer exists. The true, traditional flag of Mercia, and its variants, are well known - see Wikipedia for example. Though I would dearly love to, I cannot put Mercia as my region whilst this spurious flag is shown for it. Thanks.

Owdo from the other side of the Mers Ea, Wulfhere! :yo:

I'm relieved we Northumbrians don't have to come and give you a good hiding for claiming the Ribble as a boundary, like we see on some idiotic maps! But I would like to raise the matter of Longdendale - Cheshire's 'pan handle'... Merely a West Saxon temporary measure against Jorvik, including that in Cheshire! Return the border to the Etherow, and we'll let bygones be bygones, eh? ;)

Oh, and what's your authority for that ugly Polish style bird in the middle of the flag? Looks a right state. Keep things nice and simple.

Perhaps I'm getting cynical but I'm finding it very difficult to take this seriously

http://sovereignmercia.angelfire.com/index_files/image016.jpg

Each element in the proposed uniform for the priestesses of the Order of Ancient Mercia carries symbolic meaning. Blue, yellow and white are the colours of Mercia. The six-rayed headdress represents the universal life-force, channelled and directed by the priestess through the cones attached to her hands. The priestesses shall take over the position currently occupied by the corrupt and discredited Anglican clergy, drawing on ancient Pagan practices and adapting them for modern society, incorporating the best aspects of all traditions.

It's perfectly serious. The uniform was designed by our High Priestess.

Have you heard of Vril, by the way? It has many other names too.

.

Catholicism is now alien to us. Stop preaching and whining about it.

To some, perhaps, not all (http://www.sundayvision.co.ug/detail.php?mainNewsCategoryId=7&newsCategoryId=123&newsId=701925). Materialism, modernism and liberalisms have replaced the healthy, self- moderating values of Catholicism.

I'm locking this thread and will spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning it up because you punks can't just say "welcome to apricity!" like normal human beings.

Stop dragging this thread off topic or I will cut off your balls, dry them out like a Chinese medicine man, grind them into powder, and then sprinkle them into your Christmas cookies thus making you eat your own balls!
