View Full Version : Do you think British Actress Amelia Warner and Ukrainian Actress Mila Kunis Would Pass in Spain??

I consider that the next two beauties would be, pigmentation-wise, very average in Spain and Portugal. They have about the same pigmentation as the Spaniard actress from my avatar, which is, in turn, a very average Spaniard.

That's the reason why I chose them, because their degree of pigmentation would be about the same as the average pigmentation for Spain and Portugal.

Of course, I don't negate that there are many Iberians who look like Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruz and Rafael Nadal, AND there are also many blonde and/or blue eyed Iberians.

However, both cases are extreme segments of the Iberian phenotypic spectrum.

Average Spaniards (and Portuguese) are pale-skinned brunettes like the next two beauties:

British Actress Amelia Warner:

Ukrainian Actress Mila Kunis:

And for the records, I am not picking any Scandinavian looking famous women. I just selected two very regular pale-skinned brunettes with a very "mainstream European" look. So, any comment suggesting that "we pretend to look like vikings" would be completely out of place.

Kunis is ethnically Jewish which explains why she'd pass in the Mediterranean, no problem. The other one would fit too.

Mila Kunis looks like a dark Ukrainian or Bulgarian.

Although I agree with most of what you said, I have to point out that Mila Kunis Jewish ancestry is NOT the reason why she can pass in Spain.

Despite her Jewish origin, she doesn't look MENA, east-med or anything like that. She looks very mainstream European, up to the point that she can pass NOT only in countries like Spain and Portugal, but also in Central, Eastern and Northern Europe.

Take Amelia Warner as an example. She is a Northwestern European brunette with NO Jewish ancestry. And she looks, pigmentation-wise, like Mila Kunis.

I know she looks Eastern European. I am just talking about pigmentation.

And YES, Amelia Warner would have more chances than Mila Kunis to be mistaken for a Spaniard, since British Islanders are very more close, genetically, to Iberians than Ukrainians.

Yes that's quite possible, although I do think Mila Kunis has a very Near Eastern-influenced eye colour of a shade which I've only seen in Bulgarians or exotic Ukrainians. I don't believe she can pass outside of the Balkans or Ukraine/South Russia.

And all hazel eyes are of the same shade?

The former moreso than the latter (in my very humble opinion), although neither strike me as typical.

Of course not, and only one of her eyes is hazel, the other is brown. (http://www.ibtimes.com/mila-kunis-has-heterochromia-two-eye-colors-298357)

Her eyes look like a Hazel-Green mix to me anyway.

Oooooooooookey.

I just think it's lame to assign a specific eye color to certain groups of people.

Btw, I don't think she looks Iberian. I just needed to point out the Hazel thing, because I found that comment a bit ridiculous.

Well I think you are overanalyzing my comment. I just think her shade is much, much more prevalent in South-Eastern Europe than anything. I've only seen such eyes on people from there, but it could just be a wrong impression given subconciously as I notice the shape of her eyes, you are probably more right than I am actually now when I think about it.

You mean phenotypically? Sure, if you agree all Jews look Armenoid

By descent she's Jewish.

I think if you dumped all pure AJs in Italy 95% of them would blend in, no problem. But then Italy is a country of great diversity.

In my city there's a big Italian community. Pretty hard to tell the difference between Jews and Italians sometime.

You're right. I absolutely agree that Mila Kunis would not pass.

I think she was a wrong example to prove my point (because she has very Eastern European facial traits), but I did choose her because her pigmentation would be very average in Spain.

She could be Jewish, but she is so European admixed that she doesn't look Jewish at all. On the contrary, she looks very mainstream European.

She comes from a fully Jewish family; no more admixture than the rest of the AJ population.

Which is still a huge amount, granted.

Many Ashkenazim Jews are so European admixed that they look fully European, as is the case of Mila Kunis:thumb001:

Amelia Warner married two handsome Irishmen. She was married to Colin Farrell and is now married to Jamie Dornan. What a lucky woman!! Yes they would both fit in Spain. They are both lovely.

My point is that all AJs have incredible European admixture, equivalent to the majority of their genetic history; thus a 'fully European' look is very much an AJ look. I'm not saying she doesn't look European - of course she does - but she also looks AJ.
