Should Estonia and Finland merge?

The author makes a good case for such a federation, and he seems to imply that Estonia's NATO membership is undesirable. What I have felt, reading the fevered polemic of members like Karl, is that Estonia is culturally rich but politically naïve, because there is a sucking up to liberal capitalism, NATO, and the EU, which is such a shame because these are instruments of cultural destruction and (in the long-term) economic regression and oppression. Estonia should clearly be so much more than "good enough" to be part of neo-liberal supranational polities.

I think the reason they don't is probably because Finland does not want to piss of Russia. That's also why they aren't in NATO. But screw that they should merge anyway.

I dont understand this, they have no history together, they both became independent states after WW1, though Estonia quickly were absorbed a few years later by the USSR. How does a Finland-Estonia merging makes sence froma historical point of view? Only because their languages look a bit similiar?

Why would they? Estonia is doing just fine with no need for being merged. They don't share a direct border either so it would make it more problematic too.

Finnish Interior Minister closed borders because covid pandemic, blocking Finnish citizens´ movement abroad. She still said that border closure is not total: asylum seekers can come to Finland!
