The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia who (http://www.examiner.com/article/all-churches-should-be-destroyed-says-grand-mufti-of-saudi-arabia?cid=taboola_inbound)is the highest official of religious law in Saudi Arabia, as well as the head of the Supreme Council of Islamic Scholars, said “all churches should be destroyed in the Arabian Peninsula”, citing a saying attributed to the Prophet Muhammad.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah made the controversial statement in a response to a question from a Kuwaiti NGO delegation. A Kuwaiti parliamentarian had called for a ban on the construction of new churches in February, but so far the initiative has not been passed into law. The NGO, called the Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage, asked the Sheikh to clarify what Islamic law says on the matter. And clarify he did – in no uncertain terms!
The Sheikh went on to conclude that it was therefore necessary for Kuwait, being a part of the Arabian Peninsula, to destroy all churches on its territory as well.
“By extension he is calling for the destruction of churches everywhere”, says Abdul Mohammed of Charlotte, N.C. who writes extensively on human rights violations in Saudi Arabia, a dictatorship being supported by the United States in exchange for oil.
In Saudi Arabia, all religions other than Islam are banned and there are no churches, although a small minority of Christians is theoretically allowed to practice their religion in the privacy of their own home...most have to do it secretly. Possession of a bible in Saudi Arabia is a criminal offense. Those caught with one could be whipped.
You can also be whipped for saying "Jesus Christ Lord."

US MEDIA REFUSES TO REPORT THIS STORY

Ibrahim argues that the Grand Mufti gets a free pass even when he incites Muslims to destroy churches because Saudi Arabia is an ally of the United States”, says one highly respected Russian Media source.
“I really don't understand how a Grand Mufti, who is supposed to be well educated in Islam could make such a bigoted statement. Even as I am far less learned than this man is supposed to be I know full well that you do not accept a Hadith when it contradicts the Quran as the example he cited clearly does. The Quran states O People of the Book! Let us rally to a common formula to be binding on both us and you: That we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than God. (Surat Al 'Imran, 64). We should respect the people of the book (Christians and Jews) because their words came likewise from Allah.”, says Don Anderson in a comment section of a RT news report about the comments of the Grand Mufti.
“There is a clear disconnect between the sayings found in the hadith and sunna and that found in Quran”, says Marsha Billings of Charlotte, N.C. “Even in those cases where the hadith saying contradict the Quran? I don’t understand it except to say that most Muslims in Saudi Arabia are brain dead idiots who refuse to follow their own holy book”, she said.
This was an issue brought out by a American Imam just before he was stabbed to death in his mosque in Tucson, Arizona back in the 1980’s. The Imam Rashad Khalifa was an outspoken critic of Hadith and Sunna teachings he maintained were falsely attributed to the Prophet Muhammad 200 years after he died by so called scholars who never knew him (see: “the Great Debate” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWVsaSy9HXg
This isn’t the first time Muslims have expressed hatred for Christians. In one case a Saudi professor of law called for “positive hatred of Christians” (See Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oVkHMmJIG4&feature=related ).
Another question in all this is why the United States supports this kind of thing?
President Obama was criticized for one time “bowing” to the king of Saudi Arabia - a move seen by many as an act of submission to the Saudi royal dictator and despot. Leading some people to question whether or not he is a Muslim – something Obama denies.
