According to 23andme my mtDNA is I1.

According to FTDNA my nt DNA is 1Ib.

Which is more likely. Does FTDNA not have a greater database than 23andme?

Saw this on another thread literally 2 seconds ago. I don't think they conflict, one just goes into deeper clades.

So in which case it is better to got with FTDNA with I1b deeper clade that 23andme's I1.

Go with the FTDNA deeper clade.
If I recall correctly, FTDNA is better with haplogroups than 23andMe is, anyway.

Thank you. :)

I have been thinking a lot recently, and I know for a fact that we have very little Scandinavian/Danish input in the family. Even in the 23andme tests it shows very low. The Lemkos, however, have the highest percentage of mtDNA I than any of the other groups and I think it may be possible that it is a Lemko (East European) connection than a Scandinavian one.

Not to hijack that thread, but 23&Me lists my mtdna Haplogroup as "K2", nothing more specific. Is there some service, other than another pricey project such as FTdna that could quantify it any further?
