Green tea is enjoyed day and night in Portuguese culture, as are desserts. We are going to give you guys a traditional Portuguese recipe for Pudim de Cha Verde, or Green tea pudding. This combination is a match made in heaven as the green tea leaves give the pudding a unique flavor. This recipe is a unique Azorean variation on the dish and has been enjoyed in my family for many generations. This recipe is simple and straightforward, just make sure to find some quality green tea leaves, preferably Portuguese. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
9 egg yolks
1.5 cups sugar
1 tablespoon Caramel sauce
1 cup milk
1.5 tablespoons green tea leaves

Directions:
1) Boil the cup of milk in a saucepan. Once it is boiling turn off the heat and pour the 1.5 tablespoons of green tea leaves in the pan and stir it for about 30 seconds. Once done, pour the mixture in a bowl and set it aside.
2) In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until it is a creamy and even consistency.
3) Now use a strainer to strain the tea from the leaves and add it to the egg mixture. Stir it for about a minute.
4) Line a pudding mould with caramel sauce and pour in the mixture.
5) Bake in oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit for about 15 minutes until done.
6) Take it out of the oven and remove from the mold. Serve.
