As Icelanders are a Germanic-Celtic mix, I expect them to be very similar to Brits; or am I wrong? I'm planning to visit Iceland someday (already saving money!), should I expect more Scando-Nords or Celts in terms of looks?

Celts can be Skandonordids too. Actually the original Hallstatt Celts were mostly Skandonordid.

How so? People who now live in their historical core area rather look Alpine, not Nordid. It sounds like bullshit unless they changed so much or all these Celts moved somewhere which is not true either.

All early Indoeuropeans were mainly Nordoid, and Hallstatt Nordids are of course named for the Halstatt Celtic skulls. Alpinization mainly happened after classical times. The region today is mainly a mix of Nordid-Alpinid-Dinarid.
