A very interesting article from a Zoroastrian-themed website. Of all of the religions in the world, the Gathic religion of Zoroaster is one of the very few that I'd seriously consider following.

The theme of the article is the universal message of the Gathas, widely considered to be Zoroaster's own words. This all-encompassing message of "good thoughts, good words, good deeds" is presented in a series of songs between Zoroaster and God (Ahuramazda), not as a series of "thou shalt nots." God is thought-provoking rather than commanding in the Gathas, desiring people to listen to Zoroaster and choose the best of two paths: knowledge or ignorance. If the Gathas are as old as some people think (c. 1700/1600bce), then they're well ahead of their time.
