This will be a thread focusing on genetic study of ancient remains.
Please add ancient DNA results and the link to the study (if possible with PDF)

40 000 years old human from Tianuyan Cave (near Beijing, China) belongs to mtDNA haplogroup B (southeast asian)
44367

Analysis of ancient scythian remains found that except for one (Y-DNA haplogroup C3 (mongol)) they belonged all to R1a1 (indo-european, aryan)
Also on mtDNA haplogroup side:
Z: 1
U4: 2
T1: 2
T3: 2
T4: 1
U2: 1
H: 6
U5a1: 2
K2b: 1

How do you know it is C3 when it is stated negative for C3 by the original study? We only know those are C(xC3)(for dummies it means C excluding C3) it could be very well C-V20 like mesolithic La-Brana or something else..

Haplogroup (hg) assignment, based on the Y-chromosomal
SNP typing, revealed that except for S07, which was found
o belong to hg C(xC3), all ancient specimens were
affiliated to hg R1a1.

This site should be everyone's bookmark list..

Yes but I don't belive that they can exclude C3 without more info on this C...
This site is ok but not perfect since they have forgotten a lot (cuman, xiongnu, ancient china....)

Pharaoh Ramesses III was Y-DNA haplogroup E1b1a.

Pharaoh Tutankhamun belonged to Y-DNA haplogroup R1b(celtic), altough it is unsure since there was a big controversy on this scientifical study.

Chinese warlord and king of Wei, Cao Cao (155-220) belonged to Y-DNA haplogroup O2-M268 according to analysis on the tooth of his uncle Cao Ding.

Funny that the biggest northern warlord had southern chinese DNA instead of O3.
It would be interesting to know the Y-DNA of chinese emperors, I think the Ming were O2 and the Qing were C3.
