The terrifying moment an avalanche gathers pace and narrowly misses a group of houses has been caught on camera.
The footage - taken in Italy's South Tyrol region - captures the ominous descent of the wave of heavy snow, crushing everything its pathway.
Fortunately, the eerily slow-moving drift narrowly missed homes in Moso, a commune in Passiria, by a matter of feet.
But pine trees and rocks were not so lucky.
The five minute long video - filmed with a steady hand by a brave onlooker - follows the avalanche as it slowly creeps down the mountainside.
However, in January two Italian skiers were killed in an avalanche in north-eastern Italy.
The accident took place in the Fiemme Valley, in the province of Trento - the same valley where six Russian tourists were killed a day earlier.
The two men who said to be local residents and were accomplished skiers.
Their bodies were found thanks to a special mountain beacon they had been carrying.
