Well most Afghans are Iranids, some will show Turanid or Indid influence. parts of Iraq and the Levant, and the Southern Caucasus.

Well the funny thing is my cousins Iraqi friend thought our family was Swedish because everyone on my mothers side looks Scandinavian, however they are mostly irish with some distant Swedish-Finn heritage and some German. My dad looks French but I think could pass in Lebanon or Israel because he does look that way to me.....I use to pick on him and call him a Jew if he got upset with the way I handled money in the past.....I would say stop being Jewish and he would get upset with me..

yes Hollywood does this a lot which is why they are stupid and don't care about accurately portraying anything....they have always done this. However the Taliban in that movie don't look like Pushtuns or w/e they are called....they look like Iraqis and Indians hahaha. I think it may be because there are not a lot of Afghans living here or actors...so they try to find people they think who look closest to fit the character. It does look like a good movie as I like Mark Wahlberg films....favorites of mine are the departed, shooter, and the other guys. I think it will be a good movie even though Hollywood distorts much of history and accuracy. Look at Braveheart British people will never forgive America for inaccurately displaying history. It was more of a Mel Gibson history as they say than a historical truth.

True. I dont know how many American actresses and actors are of middle eastern descent to tell you the truth. But yes if they exist they should play the part, I think it depends though on a particular actor. Its wierd back in the 1930s or 40s blacks werent allowed to play as black people in movies so white people painted their faces black to try and look like black people....the result was lets say a cross between horrible and hilarious.
