Captain Robert Campbell, the 5th Laird of Glen Lyon 1630-1696. He was a minor member of the Scottish nobility, being a cousin of John Campbell, the 1st Earl of Breadalbane, but is chiefly remembered as the officer commanding the government troops that massacred the MacDonalds of Glencoe on 13 February 1692.

John Graham of Claverhouse, 1st Viscount Dundee 1648 – 1689 known as the 7th Laird of Claverhouse until raised to the viscountcy in 1688, was a Scottish soldier and nobleman, a Tory and an Episcopalian.

To the Jacobites he was ‘Bonnie Dundee’, a hero who led the supporters of the exiled James against the Government forces of William and Mary.
