The Spaniards more extreme for Spain than the Sicilians are for Sicily, but I would say that the Sicilians are more extreme for Europe. But the Andalusians are not far behind.

Insofar as that is true at all, it is because Sicily - or at least the Palermo area - has a considerable Norman influence, alongside all the West Asian influence. Incidentally, I did make a thread about some Calabrese councillors too: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?108395-Where-would-more-of-these-people-from-Calabria-Southern-Italy-pass-Britain-or-Syria&highlight=people+calabria+pass%3F

Because they are (a) interesting and (b) go against the conventional idea that Europeans all look the same. But anyway, if you don't like my threads, then don't bother commenting on them.

There are a few exotic people in every population. Too few to prove any kind of idea wrong. And yes, I've explained many times what constitutes a European look.

Yes, but the number rises exponentially south of the Pyrenees, Alps and Danube.

No not really to a large degree, except for in Sicily, far Southern Italy, and some of the Greek Islands.

I'd still say that Swedes and Sicilians have about as much in common as do Japanese and Malays, and no one with any sense and knowledge would say those two Asian groups look alike whatsoever. Besides, there is a clear cline in Europe from North to South in terms of pigmentation (hair colour, eye colour, skin tone), even leaving aside the most exotic/extreme types as found in the OP.

N.B. A partial exception to that rule is that there are fewer blondes in Britain and Ireland than in the Netherlands and Germany - which have a more southerly latitude - but this is not the appropriate thread to discuss that.

Japanese and Malays both have a Palaemongolid base. Have you ever been to Japan? They're much more southern looking than people assume, although they do have a fair amount of more northern Tungid, and Sinid types.

Well obviously, but we aren't talking about pigmentation, and Europeans despite significant differences still look more like each other than like anyone else for example. There are a few exceptions, but generally that's the truth.

Well whatever, but I was just trying to make a point that nobody except the most ignorant/bigoted/foolish/blind talks about a uniform 'Asian' look, and talking about a uniform 'European' look is just as illegitimate.

The 'few exceptions' being: most Cypriots; many Greeks, Southern Italians/Sicilians and Maltese; and even a few Iberians, Northern Italians and Balkanites.

Anyway, I do not want to go off-topic any longer thanks.

Somewhat, but the darkest area in Sicily is Agrigento, which is darker than Calabria I think.

Didn't you examine their phenos in the other threads?

All this seems provocative to me and not in a straight forward way.

When I read all these exotic threads,I imagine of this guy btw:

Trust me, i know a lot of calabrians and are very dark in every counties from Cosenza (most north) to Reggio Calabria (south), it's a sort of permanent tan. Sicilians except some people have light skin.

Maybe in terms of skin color. But in terms of features Sicilians look similar to Calabrese. Most Greeks are slightly lighter than both.
