I don't hate Russians and most Slavs do not, I also agree with you Slavs should not fight other Slavs. If Ukrainians and Russians don't want to live together they should separate peacefully. Hopefully there will be no fighting, no Slav blood spilled, but a civil and peaceful resolution.

Yes, I also don't see the point for balts and finnics to get involved in Ukraine. Better to bring back some troops from foreign missions elsewhere. Afganistan is very iffy, since part of the logistics goes through the Stan SSR-s. Can't allow the same mistake that Georgia did with 3000 troops there sitting idle.

Carpathian regions like Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts are the main suporters of Ukrainian nationalism and Galicia is the birth place of Stepan Bandera the most important figure of the Ukrainian national movement. That region even received the most votes from Svoboda:

Anyway Russia is just not interested in western Ukraine. Russia will only take Kharkov, Luhansk, Donetsk and keep Crimea which is more or less already in its control. This is perfectly fine if Russia annexes those regions and I don't see why there is so much complaining from the west.
