Need ideas to convince my dad...

My dad is deadset against doing a DNA test. I REALLY would like him to. I want to find out his mtDNA and yDNA haplogroups. I got his sister to do the AncestryDNA test, but I'd like for him to do 23andme especially because his direct maternal lines are from what I consider fairly isolated populations. I should just do ftDNA and scrape his cheek while he's sleeping :rotfl2 but really I need ideas

No idea. He's always skeptical of EVERYTHING. He probably thinks the gov't is storing our DNA. Which whatever it probably is....

You could teach him about anthropology and genealogy, and try to peak his curiosity on the subject. If he gets interested enough he might not be able to resist buying a test of his own accord.
