Alex is right. He doesn't have a very typical look among black Dominicans. At least DR wouldn't be my first guess.

About our SSA side, well, DRs African component is a mixed bag. It's not only Central African. Besides that, Central Africans don't have a single look like you are always implying. They vary a lot, especially in the South where most of DRs African end is from. That's why one of the reason why we have a higher frequency of elongated types. Also, it's obvious that the SSA dilutes with the Iberian and creates more elongated phenos. We already discussed this on the other forum.

I think a lot of the Africans in DR looked like these. They are from somewhere in Angola (Central Africa).

Many dominicans i have met in my life were all very dark and african looking, some of them look mulatto while others were barely predominantly white. There's a lot of really african looking dominicans in orlando florida. I spoke to some of them about what race they considered themselves and some of them who responded to me were usually claiming to be indio (taino). From that day i can tell it in their faces that they were mostly black. Indios do not look like black people.
