I am reading about them now. It's a very interesting topic to say the least.
William Patrick Hitler was born in 1911 in Liverpool, England. He was the son of German Chancellor Adolf Hitler's half-brother Alois (they shared the same father). At the turn of the century, Alois moved to Dublin, Ireland where he met William Patrick's Irish mother Bridget. After arrests
in Dublin, Alois and his wife moved to Liverpool, England where their only son William Patrick was born. In 1914, Alois left his wife and child to go back to Germany, where he stayed.

William Patrick Hitler served in the US forces during WWII, where he actually fought against his uncle's forces.
It's also interesting to note that before WWII, there were about 100,000 people with the surname Hitler in the US (I don't remember where I heard that, so unfortunately, I don't have a source). It makes me wonder how common of a name it actually was.
