Movie: Girl with a Pearl Earring

An authentic and tender romance taking place between Dutch painter Jan Vermeer (*1632, +1675) and his underprivileged housemaid, Griet. The movie knots a fictional explanation how Vermeer's most famous painting, the girl with the pearl earring, came into being. Colin Firth plays Jan Vermeer and Scarlett Johansson Griet.

It's a must see. The setting is genuine and differs delightfully from typical hollywood storylines and presentations.

Nice post Svanhild! Thank you! Yes one of my favourite movies actually. There's not anything I've come across with either of these actors though that I have not enjoyed. Strong performances by both and well worth a viewing imo. :thumbs up
